  1. Develop and implement methods for effective communication
  2. Support Public Awareness and Stakeholder Education

Public Abstract

ELEMENT 1 - EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS: The printing of 20,000 code rule books will encompass much of element 1 based on the most notable proposed change in the regulation. Within the proposed changes to the code, the addition of Automated Positive Response (APR) as the approved method for establishing and maintaining effective communications between stakeholders from the receipt of an excavation notification until successful completion of the excavation will represent a significant change. The system where available by the one call center, will become the tool utilized to collect and report positive response status.
ELEMENT 5 - PUBLIC EDUCATION: The use of the mobile exhibit trailer at various damage prevention events will assist in the facilitation of our damage prevention message.
ELEMENT 9 - DAMAGE PREVENTION PROGRAM REVIEW: Through continued analysis and improved practices we should be able to continually improve the effectiveness of our programs.
